Summary

These Regulations specify that the draft or final master plans for airports must, in specifying the sources of environmental impact associated with airport operations or civil aviation operations at the airport, address energy use that generates greenhouse gases. This allows the Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development to consider the suitability of the airport’s sustainability and decarbonisation initiatives when making decisions about master plans for leased federal airports.
