Executive Decree No. 22-322 of 18 Safar 1444, corresponding to 15 September 2022, organises the central administration of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. This Decree sets out that the Ministry is to propose all measures aimed at adapting crops and livestock farming to climate change in consultation with the relevant sectors, and to develop an outreach programme in this area, through its Directorate for the Development of Rural Territories and the Adaptation of Agriculture to Climate Change.
The Sub-Directorate for Irrigation and Adaptation of Climate Change is responsible for, inter alia, the establishment of a system to monitor climate change in agriculture; to participate, with the relevant sectors, in the development, implementation and evaluation of climate change adaptation programmes related to agriculture; and to initiate studies on the effects on climate change on agriculture.
