Summary

The project aims to strengthen the climate resilience of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities in Sub-Saharan Africa by empowering them to lead locally driven adaptation actions. Implemented by UNDP, it supports communities in Botswana, Chad, Kenya, Somalia, Tanzania, and Uganda to design and implement Landscape Adaptation Programmes (LAPs) that address their specific climate vulnerabilities through nature-based solutions, sustainable land and water management, and diversified livelihoods. The initiative promotes inclusive governance and decision-making grounded in traditional and scientific knowledge, while building local capacities and facilitating access to climate finance.
