As the government in Jordan recognizes the priority of having a National Green Growth Action Plan for its economic sectors, it developed these plans, through the Ministry of Environment, Plans for the Agriculture, Water, Energy, and Tourism Sectors.
These plans foster the country's ambitions to maintain green growth, reduce the negative impact of climate change, and promote sustainability in all green economy sectors.

The Tourism Sector Green Growth Action National Action Plan 2021-2025 (GG-NAP) outlines a green growth framework and actions for the sector aligned with the National Green Growth Plan (NGGP), Jordan Vision 2025, and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris agreement.
The GG-NAP outlines five national green growth objectives on which the Tourism Sector GG-NAP was developed:
1. Enhance Natural Capital
2. Sustainable Economic Growth
3. Social Development and Poverty Reduction
4. Resource Efficiency
5. Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation
From these five national objectives, the Tourism Sector GG-NAP identifies 18 sector sub-objectives that serve to mainstream the overarching green growth objectives into tourism sector policies and investments.

Tourism Sector Green Growth Plan 2021 – 2025

The Water Sector Green Growth Action National Action Plan 2021-2025 (GG-NAP) outlines a green growth framework and actions for the sector aligned with the National Green Growth Plan (NGGP), Jordan Vision 2025, and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris agreement.&nbsp;

Jordan Green Growth National Plan 2021-25: Waste Sector

Jordan's Action Plan for Green Growth in the Waste Sector 2021-25

Jordan has published GG-NAPs, or Green Growth National Action Plans for six sectors namely Agriculture, Energy, Tourism, Transport, Water and Waste. The GG-NAP for the waste sector identified 5 objectives and 14 sub-objectives, including resource efficiency and climate change adaptation and mitigation. To this end, the government commits to reducing and capturing methane emissions from landfills, which contribute to 3% of the country's GHG emissions. High-priority actions identified for this objective include the identification of priority sites for waste-to-energy projects, and construction of e-waste management facilities to divert waste from landfills.

Transport Sector Green Growth National Action Plan 2021–2025

Jordan's Transport Sector Green Growth National Action Plan 2021–2025 aims to integrate economic and sustainability benefits in the development of the nation's transport industry and infrastructure. Key pillars of the 'Green Growth' framework this plan was developed under include: enhancing natural capital; sustainable economic growth; social development and poverty reduction; resource efficiency; and climate change adaptation/mitigation. The action plan includes the promotion of specific measures such as a National Public Transport Fund; enhanced rollout of low-carbon bus fleets and school buses; governance reform for local and national policymakers; a pedestrian green infrastructure enhancement program; and the development of a national electric mobility strategy and action plan.

A drought is an extended period of unusually dry weather marked by a significant and sustained lack of precipitation, falling below a specific threshold over a large area for more than a month

Air pollution involves harmful contaminants in the air, affecting both indoor and outdoor environments. It can lead to health issues like respiratory diseases and heart problems, and climate impacts such as global warming. Pollutants can damage plants, trees, habitats, and water bodies like rivers and lakes.

Climate change impacts our society by disrupting the natural, economic and social systems we depend on. Physical hazards and underlying vulnerabilities can lead to increased resource competition for food and water, which can heighten the risk of conflict.

Any substance with chemical properties that can cause physical harm to people or damage the environment, including ammonia, carbon monoxide, phosphine, chlorine, arsenic, cadmium, mercury, pesticides, dioxins, microplastics, benzene, asbestos, aflatoxins, fluoride, methanol, and toxins from marine sources.

Risks to the ecosystem health of the marine environment, including ocean warming, ocean acidification, and ocean deoxygenation, harming biodiversity, species health, ecosystem services, and coastal community livelihoods.

Slow onset events evolve gradually from incremental changes over many years or from increased frequency or intensity of recurring events. As defined in the Cancun Adaptation Framework (2010), slow onset events include risks and impacts from rising temperatures, desertification, biodiversity loss, land and forest degradation, glacial retreat, ocean acidification, sea level rise, and salinization.

Climate change can have a range of impacts on technological system. Extreme weather events can cause infrastructure failures like power outages or damage to roads and bridges, as well as the impacts from waste following natural disasters. Human activities also cause technological impacts, such as the risks posed by oil spillage and leaks.

Extreme weather refers to events where a weather variable exceeds (or falls below) a threshold. Meaning it is significantly different from the average or usual weather pattern.

Policy instruments are techniques or tools used by governing authorities to promote certain policies in order to achieve predetermined goals. Put simply, instruments are how a government tries to achieve its goals, with this taxonomy being focused on national policy instruments.

Risk is the potential for adverse consequences resulting from the dynamic interplay between (climate-related) hazards, exposure, and vulnerability of affected human or ecological systems.
