Summary

This Strategy covers the management of the national maritime space and its resources and sustainable socio-economic development, creating the conditions for attracting public and private investment. It covers maritime and coastal activities, including fishing and aquaculture, maritime transport, port activities, coastal tourism, energy, shipbuilding and repair, seawater desalination, water treatment, non-economic telecommunications, including the protection of natural heritage, surveillance and monitoring of the marine and coastal environment, surveillance, control, and monitoring of marine activities, as well as scientific research.


This Strategy contains actions to respond to the climate challenge, in the marine areas and coastal infrastructures, and in reducing atmospheric emissions from maritime transport.
