The Strategy of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW) for 2025–2028 is a strategic roadmap designed to reinforce the Fund's role as a leader in financing Poland's green transition. The main goal is to drive the green transition and support low-emission transformation, sustainable development, and environmental improvement in Poland through effective pro-environmental initiatives.
The document divides environmental priorities into two categories (i) sectoral: Energy transformation, air quality improvement, circular economy (waste and water management), and biodiversity protection and (ii) horizontal: Climate change adaptation, environmental monitoring, expert research, ecological education, and innovation.
All in all, the strategy is highly climate-centric, aligning with the EU Green Deal and Poland's national energy policies.
The strategy was adopted by Resolution 103/2024 on June 27, 2024.
