Summary

The project aims to enhance the climate resilience of communities in the Tempe Lake ecosystem in South Sulawesi, Indonesia by promoting sustainable landscape governance. It will improve forest and land management in upstream areas through agroforestry, erosion control, and participatory land-use planning; support alternative fishery-based livelihoods to reduce climate-related income losses; and strengthen community-based adaptation, including multi-stakeholder coordination and engagement of women and youth. Together, these actions seek to reduce flooding and sedimentation, restore ecosystems, and build resilient livelihoods across the Tempe Lake watershed.
