<p>Gabon's Long term strategy for a resilient low-carbon transition by 2050 aims to contribute to climate change mitigation, adaptation, and sustainable natural resource management, while promoting green economic growth and social development. It aims to decarbonise the energy sector by 2050, and calls for the development of a sectoral strategy for decarbonisation. It promotes the modernisation and expansion of the energy grid, integration of renewable energy sources and an expansion of the research and innovation sector. In transport it promotes the use of electric vehicles in public transport, and a focus on integrating its export sector with global electric vehicle supply chains. In agriculture and land use it aims to protect primary forests, while encouraging agroforestry and ecological restoration of regraded areas. It aims to integrate with international carbon markets for funding, using enhanced standards for forest certification. It contains further goals and opportunities across a wide range of sectors, and calls for enhanced capacity and governance for administering the low-carbon transition.</p>
